On the 28th we celebrated Darla's 1st birthday! She greatly enjoyed the frosting, but the cupcake not so much. We were grateful to be able to be in Salt Lake with so many of Darla's cousins, aunts, uncles, Crazy Grandma, and Papa! Darla is one of the happiest 1 year olds you'll ever see. She is rather close to walking - her top two teeth have broken through (thank goodness) and she is more sociable than ever. Being around all of her cousins while in Utah has helped her become more independent and talkative.
Darla, Daddy and I love you. Every day we mention how grateful we are for such a beautiful and sweet little girl. You are the greatest blessing of our lives. Happy Birthday!

She really is an absolutely adorable child! (and you know me... I'm no smoke-blower).
This is when it starts to get REALLY fun. Malia started to become my "little buddy" around this age. After the first year, it starts to FLY by!!!!

Just so you know, we called all the phones that day! She is so cute, but it panicked me cause that means Rachel is next. Where did the time go? What a beautiful little girl and how much we love all of you. One of these years, we'll be together to celebrate the birthdays. Love you

Anna said yesterday that she misses Darla. Thanks so much for coming down to see us. If you have any time left before you leave and want to hang more, just call. I know you have lots of people to see, but just in case they all have to cancel...
