15 months ago. . .

. . . I hadn't yet learned. I didn't know. I had no idea. I couldn't comprehend. I wouldn't stop to think about Darla and who this little person is, or what she has come to mean in my life. She is my little "teeny" (weighing in today at only 18 lbs). That number makes me realize how small she was when she was born - since 18 is triple what she weighed when she was born. I know 15 months isn't one of the celebrated milestones, but today I have been celebrating her in my thoughts, as I do every day because every day, the past 15 months I am blessed to know Darla.

"so many books, so little time"

Too much to smile about. On the last day of Erik's break we went to the Minnesota Zoo. Darla was in heaven with all the animals - especially the moose, fish, and turtles. I also decided yesterday that Darla's favorite thing to do is to read books. Seriously that is all we do all day long. Book after book after book. She is wonderful.

"spring" break

I think the people of Minnesota need to think of a new name for the break Erik has had this week. The weather here is far from being Spring, not to mention today is the first day of Spring (supposedly).  Even Winter Break sounds more fitting since we woke up this morning and there was snow on the ground. I believe another storm is blowing in right now. We have had a wonderful time this week though. Darla and I love having Erik home and around.  We have gone to the free Zoo - yes we celebrated and spent sometime outside on Monday because it was a lovely 55 degrees. We've enjoyed watching LOST together (I am obsessed), done some shopping, had some friends over, and of course a little trip the library. I'm just thriving on these last couple days because this break will end all too soon. We love you Daddy.

"oh how lovely was the morning. . ."

Darla loves shoes. As mentioned in a previous post, she often goes to her basket of shoes and picks out her random selection, carries them over to Mom or Dad, sets them at our feet saying "shoo, shoo", we put them on and look how happy she is! Todays choice was black patent leather Sunday shoes over her pajamas. She has been so much fun this morning. What a great way to start our day.

Needing Ideas

Since we live in Minnesota and it will continue to be winter until about June  -  I am asking for ideas, things to do. Mainly ideas for things to do inside with my darling 14 month old. Outings are good too, but I don't need to be spending a bunch of money. So let's hear them. Endless ideas . . . ready go!
