continuation of previous post...

Erik and Darla love to read stories together. They lay on the floor next to each other and Darla just thrives on his stories. So cute.

Lake Calhoun - Beautiful. On of the 15,000 lakes in Minnesota. This lake is small, but sits just a couple miles away from the city. It had a trail around the whole thing. It would probably only take an hour to walk around. It was pure glass. Erik and I were wishing for a boat.

Thus far all is well. School starts on Tuesday - that is when real life begins. We feel like we've been on vacation. Darla turned 8 months old this week. She is close to crawling, and is more interactive than ever. Yes, we love her. . . sometimes we wonder if we love her too much. Is that possible?

one day at a time

We have been having the time of out lives. Every day I feel like we have had a new adventure. As you can see, our computer is back. Don't worry we didn't need a new hard drive. I guess some cord was loose on the inside, so they just needed to hook it all back up. Thank goodness.

Walker Sculpture Garden. Yes, behind us is the famous spoon/cherry fountain. There were many other beautiful and also strange sculptures. We met some very nice people here as well. Don't worry to the right of us (not pictured) there was a wedding going on. What would that be like, "We got married in a sculpture garden." To each his own.

Darla has discovered the joy of ripping up the phone book. She sat here for probably 10 minutes ripping and crumpling page after page.

Minnehaha Falls - it means laughing water. Oh don't worry, we both burst out laughing when we walked up to this waterfall. I think we were picturing the Yellowstone falls, but this was basically a stream falling over a rock. Fun to walk around the park though, push Darla on the swings etc.

NO COMPUTER

Ok,
so, broken hard drive on our Mac. It'll be fixed on Friday (hopefully) and I will give much more of an update then. Love to all.

It's only just begun...

Here we are in Minnesota. No pictures of this place yet, but there will be many to come. The last picture of Darla with stuff all over her lips was taken yesterday when she was LOVING the prunes I was feeding her. Of all things, prunes! Man alive. Most of these pictures are from Hebgen. We went huckleberry picking, swimming in the firehole river, tie-dyed shirts, and playing on the beach. Right before Darla and I flew out my sister Emily had a little baby boy! Easton Richards Bowen. He is gorgeous. I was so glad that I was able to see that little guy before I left.
When I get our apartment in order I will take some pictures. I have to say it is still kind of surreal to me that we are out here. When I'm in our apartment I feel like we are still in Utah and then I walk outside and am reminded of where we are. I am happy. We are excited. I am grateful that Erik and I have time together before school starts. More to come...
I forgot to mention Erik's fabulous red Christmas sweater in the picture where he is kissing Darla on the head. Don't worry he wore it basically the whole trip in Montana. What a dork. I love him.

Messy Messy Messy

I gave Darla her first "biter biscuit" yesterday. She was in heaven (to say the least). It's a good thing I striped her down to just her diaper before I let her go to town. There is something so cute about a messy baby face.

FAMILY PHOTO!

This past weekend, we had my whole entire family together (minus 3). That is pretty amazing! I love being with everyone. But the great thing was that every single grandchild was there. All 26! Families are incredible. The love, laughter, and joy that is shared isn't experienced anywhere else.

new favorite toy!

Darla is in love with this toothbrush. She sucks on it all day long!
Darling. Look at all the rice cereal on her face. Love it!
Good morning Darla. Her hair is hilarious in the morning!

Who ever thinks she doesn't look like Erik just look at this picture. I think they look so much alike! She gets so excited when he comes home. She likes to attack his face.

This shirt has a button as the middle of the flower. As you can see, she sucks on the button quite often and then her shirt ends up looking like she ran a marathon. Way to go Darla!
