Inspiration

Erik and I have had some interesting thoughts the past couple days. Long story short, He was about to say no to the program at Minnesota and as soon as he did, he felt confusion inside instead of peace. We started to talk about what he was feeling, what I had been feeling and after yesterday we both feel as though we need to go to the University of Minnesota instead of George Washington. While pondering upon our thoughts and feelings, I thought of a talk by Elder Jeffery R. Holland (http://speeches.byu.edu/reader/reader.php?id=8501). I recommend all to read this talk. I know that the Lord is mindful and is aware of our circumstance. I know that he wants what is best for our little family. I know that even after we have felt peace about a decision we will face moments of doubt and fear - but I know that those feelings come from one who does not desire our happiness as God and Jesus Christ do. I know that we are always needing to be taught. I know that if we are humble and are listening that those lessons will be recognized. If we heed them, our lives will be changed.

Hey everybody it's family night!

Well this was our family night activity tonight. I don't know if I've ever laughed this hard. Tears were streaming down our faces. Simple joys.

Goodbye BYU!

We are so excited!
It was quite the experience to watch Erik walk across that stage.
What a beautiful spring day.
Good Job Daddy.
We love you!

who needs sleep?

She has found her fingers (three are in her mouth).
She falls asleep watching ESPN with Dad.
She loves to be held by her cousin Tess (Tess might be enjoying it a bit more that she is).
She still has the brightest eyes we've ever seen! What a joy.

Giggles

Ok, so this took place Sunday night of conference weekend and I have been wanting to post it since then, but I've been still learning how to use my Mac. Today I figured it out so you can all see Darla and her first laugh. It was pretty random and out of the blue. She laughs at Erik all the time now. He is keeping track who makes her laugh more and so far he is winning. Oh we are having too much fun with this little girl.
Also, today is Erik's birthday! He sadly enough has to work all day and take a humanities final tonight. But the good news is, is that he graduates this week. He couldn't be more thrilled to be done. I'm hoping to make him a delicious dinner tonight and hopefully he will enjoy his presents. What a guy. We love you Erik.

Polka-dots!

I'm sorry, but look at that face! Nothing to say other than that.

Photo Shoot

Since I have a great camera and we have this great computer I have been pretty much taking endless pictures of Darla. These are from today. I know that I am no photographer, but I sure have been getting a lot of practice as of late. Isn't she beautiful? I also thought I should post and let you all know that we are probably going to be moving to DC in the Fall. Erik has been accepted to George Washington and we are feeling good about it. Of course we have all the details to figure out, but I think it's all going to work out. I'm thrilled to be getting out of Provo and onto a new adventure. I couldn't ask for a better person to travel across the country with than Erik. He truly is amazing. I am grateful that he is willing to work as hard as he does each day so that I can be home with Darla. Erik is the most humble, service oriented, and driven man I know. What a beautiful life we have been given.

Laughter

What a wonderful conference weekend. We are uplifted and motivated after this weekend. President Thomas S. Monson is truly a prophet of God. After watching and sustaining him this weekend there is no denying that fact. How blessed we are to be part of this great work.
p.s - I'll keep blogging.

I've Tried

There have been good and bad things about this blog world.
To tell you the truth though the idea that basically ANYONE can see my pictures and information freaks me out. This idea doesn't leave my head. Also I have spent a lot more time on the computer since I started "blogging".
I'm considering giving it up.
I believe it might be time to say good-bye or as it says in a great movie "click, click - Deleted".
