slides

Darla has figured out how to climb all the way up to the the twisty slide, turn around and slide down on her tummy - all by herself.  The smile she has on her face when she knows she about to slide down is HUGE. Over and over again she goes and couldn't be more proud of herself. Erik's birthday was yesterday and we loved celebrating him. We couldn't ask for a better husband or daddy around here.

sunshine

This week has been BEAUTIFUL. We have been outside at some point every single day. Darla has officially become a toddler this week since her hands have turned black and she has dirt under her nails by the end of the day from all the hours of playing hard and she is down to one nap! She loves stickers (as seen in the picture with the brown shirt). She takes them off the paper and and places them right on her shirt. I don't go an hour without finding a sticker somewhere, stuck to something. Darla is 100 % a Daddy's girl. Tears will stream down her face if he says good-bye when he leaves for class, when he gets in the shower etc. She loves her daddy. What a girl.

Virginia

Darla and I were lucky enough to be able to go to Virginia to visit my sister and her family! We had a wonderful time. Lucky for us the weather was beautiful. We were able to go to many parks and spend a lot of time outside - which Darla loves. The week was full of delicious food, great conversation/company, and endless amounts of energy. We got back in time to spend Easter with Erik and watch Darla find her first Easter Basket. Time is going quickly. Before we know it the semester will be over and we'll be on another plane headed to SLC. Crazy.

Here you go Mindy

I just found this picture on our camera this morning. I would guess that Erik caught this precious moment. Yesterday was a fabulous day - you would have thought it would have been full of tricks, but I was able to go to the doctor and hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time. Yes I am almost 17 weeks, but the first time (when I was 12 weeks) and they tried to find it they couldn't - but luckily they have ultrasound and were able to see the little heart beating away. There is just something about HEARING it, so to say the least it was another precious moment for me.  Also yesterday we figured out when we are going to SLC this summer. We will get to be there for almost a month. Wonderful! May 20th - June 15th. Can't wait. The last fabulous thing I'd like to share that happened yesterday is that Darla started saying two words in a row - meaning instead of just saying "shoe" she would say "Darla shoe", or "so big". Her language is hilarious and improving every day.
