the day of this life

Tomorrow our little girl is 3 months old. I was organizing a bunch of pictures of her today (i.e. sliding pictures into photo albums. I am no scrapbooker) and as cliche as it is, I cannot believe how much babies change in just 3 short months. Amazing. Watching her during that time I have thought much about growth and change. What an enormous part of life those two ideas are. Throughout the scriptures we are taught and commanded to "Come unto Christ" so that we might be changed as we are shown and come to understand our potential; what God would have us be. Interestingly enough we are also asked to become childlike. If we are to be as a child - why do we constantly wish away the now and long for future days when we are more "grown up"?

Isn't that the hard part? Remembering to ALWAYS enjoy the here and now, particularly when that time is difficult? Fortunately, the difficulties are usually fairly short compared to our lifespan, but it is hard sometimes to not wish to be at a better place in life...and isn't that the vice that Satan uses as well? To wait until you are in grad school, have babies, are in a house, etc, etc to get us to postpone what we know is right? Wow, I waxed spiritual and long on this one! Just a few thoughts to match your own. And Rachel just outgrew her first preemie outfit! They grow too fast for sure. Miss you and can't wait for them to meet!
